Description
Home Depot shelf tag for the Cantex new-work 1-gang plastic box, 23 cu in — the substitute pulled in place of the BOM’s named Carlon B122A-UPC (22 cu in). Both are spec-equivalent deep 1-gang plastic new-work boxes that meet the “22+ cu in” requirement, but Cantex came in larger (23 cu in vs 22) and cheaper (1.10 HD cart reference) — a clean upgrade for less money.
The “deep 1-gang box for every location” rule (Electrical Shopping List — 120V) is preserved: any of these boxes can later accept a Shelly Plus 1/1PM behind the device without re-boxing, regardless of whether the device installed today is an outlet or a switch.
