Photo Details

- Time: 4:15 PM EST
- Weather: Clear and windy afternoon, 51-56°F. Good conditions for final grading.
- Phase: Sitework – Backfill and grading
- Location: 309 E. 7th St., Clare, MI – rear yard looking north
- View: Elevated southeast vantage capturing the graded approach to the garage slab
Description
The photo records the completed grading work that followed the concrete crew’s slab pour. The previously stockpiled dirt and sand have been redistributed to create a smooth, even ramp up to the finished garage slab, blending the new concrete pad into the surrounding yard.
Key Observations
- Grading Complete: Freshly compacted topsoil fills the south and east approaches, eliminating the steep drop-offs around the slab edges.
- Finished Slab: The 24’ x 40’ concrete pad remains clean and intact with crisp expansion joints and conduit stubs visible at the rear corner.
- Site Cleanup: Tracks from grading equipment are visible in the soil, but spoil piles are gone and the work zone is now orderly.
- Context: Autumn foliage and neighboring properties frame the site, emphasizing how the new slab sits naturally within the residential setting.
Project Status Update
With grading complete, the foundation phase wraps up and the site is ready for perimeter backfill settlement, utility tie-ins, and the start of wall framing once inspections are cleared.
